Dora Horvath

  • Dora Horvath (PhD, MIntlRel, BEcon(Hon)) has over 15 years’ research management experience in Australian higher education. Her expertise spans research development, grant writing and management, research strategy and governance, and capacity development.

    She has held senior research management positions at La Trobe University, the Australian National University and the University of Melbourne. She has led the design and deployment of university-wide strategies for building research capacity and culture, the development of large-scale multi-institutional collaborations and consortia, the establishment of governance frameworks and processes for internal research investments, and the management of grant writing pipelines with focus on ARC, international and philanthropic funding opportunities.

    Before joining the Australian higher education sector, Dora worked as a project manager in the not-for profit and business sectors both in Australia and Europe. She has cross-functional management expertise in operational planning, financial management, project administration and relationship management.

    She is a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science and holds postgraduate degrees in International Relations and Economics.
