  • Emeritus Professor Graham Seal was Director of the Australia-Asia-Pacific Institute, a Curtin University Research Institute in Humanities and Social Sciences, from 2007-2019. An important aspect of this work involved researcher career development from post-doctoral through to senior researcher levels. 

     Prior to that he filled a number of research and teaching roles and held a personal chair as Professor of Folklore. He has been visiting Professor/Fellow at the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and Kent, as well as an international academic guest of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Society.

     Graham is an award-winning author and/or co-author of over thirty books, numerous journal articles and other writings. He has been an ARC assessor, quality reviewer and ERA discipline champion and an investigator on several ARC projects. His scholarly and related work was recognised with an Order of Australia in 2007.
