Janet Verbyla

• Janet is Professor Emeritus and currently Honorary Professor at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) where she was Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor heading the Academic Division from 2012 to early 2018. Commencing as an active teaching and research academic in software and information engineering, Janet has progressed through a wide range of university academic executive and management roles culminating in serving as Interim Vice-Chancellor for much of 2017. Janet was for a number of years, the President of the Australian Deans of ICT.

  Janet has extensive experience chairing appointment, promotion, study leave and (internal) major equipment panels and being responsible for the associated policies and procedures. She has a strong, sustained track record in internal coaching and development of academic (and professional) staff. Most recently she became a certified executive and performance coach. Janet has authored (non-research) funding applications obtaining over $60m in recent years.
